Tom Holland is mourning the loss of a beloved family member.
On Sunday, April 21, the 27-year-old Spider-Man actor shared a picture of his late dog Tessa on Instagram. He wrote in the caption, “Missing my lady ❤️.”
Tom’s dad, Dominic Holland, 56, had shared the sad news earlier in the month on Instagram. He posted a link to his Patreon page where he wrote about Tessa’s passing. Dominic described Tessa as “the only Holland who everyone loved all of the time,” and called her “a remarkable little dog.”
The Holland family adopted Tessa in 2014, and to remember her, they have planted a tree in their front garden. Dominic wrote on Instagram, “It made sense to plant Tessa’s tree in our front garden for all the world to see, share and enjoy.”
Tom often shared photos and videos of Tessa on his social media. Tessa even appeared in a video last month that Tom posted about The Brothers Trust, the charity run by the Holland family.
Tom introduced Tessa to the world in a post on Instagram on July 6, 2014. He shared a cute photo of Tessa and captioned it, “I would like to introduce to everyone little Tess. The newest member of the family. #staffs.”
In a 2017 interview with Time, Tom talked about his love for Tessa. He took her as his date to an event while promoting Spider-Man: Homecoming. Tom said, “I love her, she is an angel. She’s called Tessa, she’s a blue staffy.” He also shared that staffies are often misunderstood as aggressive dogs, but Tessa was the sweetest dog he had ever met.
Tom also shared a funny story from the event, saying that Tessa was scared of the cameras at first and ran away. But she came back and had a great time, which made the event amazing for him.
