Supporting Special-Needs and High-Risk Rescues: My Journey Creating a Dog Calendar

After hearing from other wildlife photographers how running calendar contests to raise money for dog rescues has had an immeasurable impact, I realized that the issue of animal euthanasia is especially important. I realized the potential to make a serious difference in my home state of North Carolina. I knew that with additional funding and increasing the number of foster homes, local rescues could help countless dogs in need. So I started this mission at the beginning of his 2023.

I decided to support Perfectly Imperfect Pups, an organization that rescues special needs and high-risk dogs in Raleigh, North Carolina. Amazingly, thanks to the support of a number of influential dog lovers (featured below), we were able to raise nearly $15,000 in rescue funds in just four weeks, exceeding our original goal of $5,000 for his rescue. It reached almost three times the dollar value. In September, I introduced the 2024 Triangle Dog of the Year Calendar, and so far we have raised nearly $1,000 for Perfectly Imperfect Puppies through calendar sales. I’m raising it. Although not all dogs featured on the calendar are rescue dogs, the majority are. In this post, in addition to their photos, we have also included text that provides insight into their stories and provides an opportunity to follow these fascinating faces online.

P.S. If you’re inspired to purchase a calendar, please know that $13 from each sale goes directly to supporting PIPs Rescue. The sales period concludes on November 17th, 2023.
