SHE DREAMED OF WALKING THE RUNWAY… AND ENDED UP MAKING FASHION HISTORY.

In February 2022, Sofía Jirau, a Puerto Rican model with Down syndrome, became the first model with the condition to appear in a Victoria’s Secret campaign.

At just 24 years old, she joined 17 other women in the brand’s Love Cloud Collection campaign, helping celebrate different bodies, abilities, and backgrounds.

But Sofía’s journey didn’t begin with that historic moment. She started modeling professionally in 2019 and walked at New York Fashion Week in 2020. She also launched her own fashion and lifestyle brand, Alavett, turning her passion into a business.

Through her “No Limits” campaign, Sofía continues to encourage people with Down syndrome to believe in their dreams and pursue opportunities.

Her story is a powerful reminder that representation matters. When people are given the chance to be seen, they can challenge expectations and open doors for others.

Sometimes, one person’s dream can help the world imagine new possibilities.
