In May 2014, in the quiet early hours of the morning, Lunita was found alone on a sidewalk in Salta, Argentina. A medium-sized dog with a sweet face and paralyzed hind legs, she had been left there with a worn-out wheelchair and a note. The note included her name, her age, and a short explanation: her owner could no longer care for her. No food, no water—just a heartbreaking goodbye.
