A mom had three daughters, all of whom were getting married within a few months of each other. Being a bit old-fashioned and naturally curious, the mother asked each of them for one small favor:
“Once you’re on your honeymoon, send me a postcard with just a word or phrase that describes how your new married life is going… romantically speaking.”
The daughters giggled, but agreed.
The first postcard arrived just a couple of days after the wedding, sent from a beach resort in Hawaii. It had just one word on it: “Nescafé.”
The mom was confused, but then walked over to the kitchen, grabbed her jar of instant coffee, and read the label:
“Rich, satisfying… good to the last drop.”
She blushed, but smiled. “Well, that’s promising.”
A week later, a second postcard came in from a cozy inn in Vermont. It read: “Benson & Hedges.”
Puzzled again, the mom rushed to the drawer where her husband kept his cigarettes. On the box, she found the phrase:
“Extra long… King size.”
Again, cheeks turned a little pink, but she couldn’t help but feel pleased for her daughter.
Weeks passed and still no word from the third daughter, who had jetted off to the Caribbean with her new husband. The mom started to worry.
Finally, after nearly a month, a card arrived. The handwriting was shaky, the ink smudged, but it read just two words:
“British Airways.”
Curious and a little nervous, the mom flipped through her latest magazine until she found the airline ad. Her eyes widened as she read:
“Three times a day. Seven days a week. Round trip.”
She didn’t just blush this time—she fainted.
