A blonde woman sat at a roulette table in a packed Las Vegas casino, surrounded by blinking lights, chiming machines, and the buzz of people chasing luck. Sadly, luck had completely abandoned her. One spin after another wiped out her chips until she was left clutching her final $100.
Her eyes filled with tears as she stared at the table. “What am I supposed to do now?” she sobbed, covering her face.
The man beside her leaned in and said gently, “Why don’t you bet on your age?”
She paused, wiped her nose, and nodded. “That actually sounds smart.”
She slid the entire $100 onto the number 29.
The wheel spun.
The ball rattled.
Everyone leaned in.
It landed on 36.
As soon as the number was called, the woman collapsed in a faint right there at the table.
The Farmer’s Problem-Solving Skills
A farmer who took great pride in his large group of pigs was tending his land when a man stopped by and asked, “What do you feed your pigs?”
“Mostly corn, acorns, and leftovers,” the farmer replied. “Why?”
“I represent the Animal Protection Association,” the man said sharply. “That diet isn’t acceptable for animals.” He promptly issued the farmer a fine and left.
A few days later, another visitor arrived and asked the same question.
This time, the farmer answered cautiously. “Oh, I feed them salmon, steak, shrimp—sometimes even caviar.”
The man scowled. “I’m from the United Nations. People around the world are starving, and you’re giving luxury meals to pigs?” He fined the farmer and walked off.
By the following week, the farmer was already stressed when a third man showed up and asked, once again, what the pigs were fed.
The farmer thought for a moment, then said, “I give each pig five dollars a day.”
The man looked confused. “Five dollars? So what do they eat?”
The farmer shrugged. “That’s up to them. They buy whatever they like.”
