Pets are like family, and many owners love to celebrate their birthdays to show how much they care. These celebrations can be anything from small get-togethers with a few treats and toys to big events with decorations, special cakes, and invitations for other pets.
Some people really go all out to make their pet’s birthday extra special. For example, Vincent Van Dog recently had a birthday party that was truly one-of-a-kind.

Deanna, who owns and trains Vincent Van Dog, recently went all out for her pet’s 11th birthday by organizing a special gourmet dining event called “Eleven Madison Bark.” Wanting to celebrate Vincent like a beloved family member, Deanna decided to treat him to something extraordinary. “We wanted to do something special for Vincent because he’s such a good boy. We celebrate human birthdays with fancy dinners, so why not do the same for our furry friends? My creative partner Billy Hiller and I love adding a fun twist to traditional celebrations, and this felt like the perfect opportunity,” she said.
Vincent Van Dog kicked off his day with a 9-course tasting journey at Eleven Madison Bark.
The birthday party featured a nine-course meal that was both fancy and safe for dogs to eat. Deanna explained some of the special dishes: “Geaux Fetche” was our most elaborate dish, made using molecular gastronomy and served in a carved tennis ball. It was a version of beef tartare. Although Eleven Madison Park is a completely vegan restaurant, we made an exception for “Eleven Madison Bark” since it was for dogs. We carefully selected dog-friendly, Vincent-approved foods to make sure he enjoyed every bite.”
He sat down like an important guest and began looking through the elegant menu.
The first course arrived
After enjoying some light snacks, Vincent tried a dish called ‘Geaux Fetchè,’ which was beef tartare creatively presented inside a tennis ball.

Next, they brought out a palate cleanser: an old sock, which was eagerly sniffed right at the table.
Then comes ‘Cannes de Tuna,’
After enjoying the albacore tuna sashimi, Vincent tried the ‘Le Spoon Peanut Butter,’ which was carefully presented on a hand-carved celery spoon.
Vincent decided to refresh his taste buds by trying different types of ice cubes. He carefully tasted ice made from Evian, Perrier, Voss, and even from toilet water.
After trying the water, Vincent treated himself to a fancy dish called ‘Noah’s Bark,’ which was a rich chicken soup with beef bone broth balls and finely grated veal stock gremolata on top.
He finished his 9-course meal with a sweet treat: a unique version of pumpkin pie that included purée, cream, and crust, all served separately.
After enjoying his fancy meal, Vincent was given a “doggy bag” to take home, so he’d have something tasty to enjoy later. After all, he wanted to keep the celebration going!
