A palm reader claims that they can determine whether you will be rich or poor by examining just your thumb

A TikTok video has recently stirred up debate online by claiming that the shape and size of your thumb might reveal whether you’ll be rich or not. The video comes from a UK palm reading account called @palmistbabauk and has been watched over 1.2 million times.

In the video, the palm reader focuses on a crease at the base of the thumb. They say that the pattern of lines in that area could predict your financial future. If the lines look like small crosses or stitched marks, it’s said that you and your partner might not become rich. But if the lines form small ovals linked together, it supposedly means you’re both destined to be wealthy.

The video quickly went viral, but many people pointed out that there’s no real science behind these claims.

Meanwhile, a different TikTok user named Min, who shares insights from Chinese culture, posted videos explaining how palm lines can reflect your personality, health, and relationships. In one video, she talked about the “heart line”—the line that starts below the pinky and runs across the palm. According to her:

  • A short heart line means you’re strong-willed and spontaneous but might struggle in love because you tend to push people away.
  • A long heart line means you’re very loyal and feel emotions deeply. However, this can also make relationships more challenging and emotional.

Min also talked about the “head line,” which runs just above the heart line. This line is said to show how you think and make decisions.

  • A long head line means you’re wise, thoughtful, and careful.
  • A short head line might mean you act quickly and sometimes make rushed choices.

Though these beliefs don’t have scientific proof, many people enjoy learning what their hands might say about their personality or future. Whether you believe it or not, it’s a fun and interesting way to explore cultural traditions and self-reflection.
