As Ashley Boggs was driving down a winding road in Puerto Rico, she noticed a car ahead of her stop briefly before speeding off. Something felt wrong. Curious, she slowed down—only to realize that someone had just abandoned a dog in the middle of the busy road.
The small brown dog seemed desperate, but not just for herself. She needed help for her babies too! Thankfully, Ashley, who worked with Miracles for Satos Rescue, immediately understood the urgency and decided to follow the dog.
She soon found two tiny puppies near the roadside and quickly carried them to her car. But she had a feeling there were more. Then, she heard faint cries coming from the woods. Following the sounds, she was shocked to find four more puppies hidden among the trees!
With great care, Ashley gathered all four puppies and placed them safely in her car, reuniting them with their mother. The sight broke her heart—there was no food or water anywhere, and if no one had found them, they might not have survived much longer.
She took the entire dog family to the rescue shelter, where they could finally be safe. On the way, the mother dog, now named Goji, couldn’t stop cuddling and licking Ashley, as if thanking her for saving them.
Soon after, two of the puppies found loving homes, and the rest—including Goji—are sure to be adopted soon. With their sweet and friendly nature, they won’t have to wait long for their forever families.
